Aphrodites Falafel: For the love of food
Falafel is loved the world over, except when it comes out of a supermarket. Aphrodites Falafel aims to change that, by creating a supermarket falafel, that’s easy to fall in love with.
Named after the family matriarch who immigrated to Australia from Egypt in the 1950s, Aphrodites Falafel is a business I’ve been developing over the past couple of years. It’s taken over 100 different recipes of falafel, both in the concept stage and during the production stage.
Branding wise, I wanted to make it feel bright and colourful, reflective of my Yia Yia’s colourful past, along with a nod to the Middle-Eastern heritage, by using bold angular shapes in yellows, reds, greens and blue.
